An expandable container house is a type of modular housing structure that can expand or contract, providing additional living space when needed. These houses are built using shipping containers as the base structure, which can be expanded to create larger living areas.

Features and Characteristics of Expandable Container House

  • Expandability: The primary advantage of these houses is their ability to expand. Typically, the container house starts in a compact and transportable form, but it can be expanded horizontally or vertically to increase the available living space. This expansion is achieved through the use of hydraulic or mechanical systems that push or unfold additional sections of the container.

  • Portability: Similar to standard shipping containers, expandable container houses are designed to be easily transported. They can be transported by truck, ship, or train, making them suitable for both domestic and international projects. Their portability allows for relocation and reassembly in different locations.

  • Quick and Easy Setup: Expandable container houses are relatively quick and easy to set up compared to traditional construction methods. Once the house is in position, expanding or contracting it typically requires minimal time and effort.

  • Customizable Design: These houses offer a range of customization options. The interior layout, finishes, and fixtures can be tailored to meet individual preferences and requirements. Additionally, multiple expandable containers can be interconnected to create larger living spaces or multi-story structures.

  • Durability and Sustainability: Expandable container houses are built using strong and durable materials, such as steel. These houses can withstand various weather conditions and are structurally stable. Additionally, the use of repurposed shipping containers contributes to environmental sustainability.

  • Versatility: Expandable container houses have a wide range of applications. They can be used as residential homes, temporary housing, disaster relief shelters, remote construction site offices, and more. Their versatility makes them suitable for various purposes and locations.

  • It’s important to note that specific designs, features, and specifications may vary among different manufacturers and suppliers of expandable container houses. Therefore, it’s recommended to consult with professionals or experts in the field to explore available options and choose the most suitable solution for your specific needs.

After unfolding one side of the roof, the auxiliary SHS is temporarily fixed in the middle of the roof.

Step Three:

Remove the wire at the connection between the bottom frame structure and the top of the container house. Pay attention to hold the bottom frame structure in advance to avoid rollover.

Step Four:

Place solid objects with a height of 10cm in three places on the ground in advance to pad the side ground structure for ground leveling, and the unfolding action should be slow.

Step Five:

Unfold the side wall after leveling the side floor structure.

Step Six:

Unfold the side gable.

Step Seven:

Use accessory bolts to fix the gable wall. There are 8 bolt holes in front and back of the whole house.

Step Eight:

After all the bolts are tightened and fixed, remove the SHS slowly. Then the roof meets the wall.
